TOEFL® ITP : Pre-Experience Students Only

Pre-Experience Students: join us to take the TOEFL ITP at the Jouy-en-Josas campus!

Did you know?

In the context of your academic career at HEC Paris, the TOEFL® ITP represents a major benchmark because a minimum score of 600 out of 677 is required for graduation.

Language Resource Center (LRC) offers you the opportunity to take the TOEFL® ITP certification exam in our licensed test center on Jouy-en-Josas campus.


Who can take this exam with LRC HEC Paris?

You need to

    • Be a student in a pre-experience program in HEC Paris
    • Be able to provide a valid ID with photo & your student card on the exam day.
    • Wear a mask during the whole exam due to covid-19.



  • Know that you do not need to take this exam if you have a waiver*.
  • Know that your first take of TOEFL® ITP during your first year in HEC Paris is free of charge and you DO NOT need to sign up via LRC website as your name will be transferred directly from your academic office to us. To sum up, you do not need to do anything until we inform you to come for your test!
  • Know you will need to pay a fee of 50 from your second trial of TOEFL ITP on. And you will need to sign up for «retake»
  • Your TOEFL® ITP result will be available in your academic affairs office, around 1 month after your exam date.

During the exam, cellphones and other devices connected to the internet must be turned off and put away, food and drink are prohibited, and scrap paper is not allowed.
Only HB type pencils and erasers are accepted. Please make sure to have everything with you, as exits during the test are final.



What does it mean a « Waiver »?

You can be granted a « waiver » if you have fulfilled one of the equivalences as stated below. You have to have taken your exam after the 1st of September 2016, except for the Cambridge test (which does not have an expiry date). Equivalences TOEFL ITP: minimum 600 out of 677 TOEFL iBT: minimum 100 out of 120 Cambridge: CAE B Cambridge: BEC more than B Cambridge: CPE C IELTS: minimum 7.0 out of 8.0 You can also apply if you have obtained a Bachelor degree in one of the following countries (All other countries will not be taken into account): Hong-Kong, Singapour, South Africa, India, New Zealand, US, Canada, UK, Ireland or Australia Your nationality will not be taken into account for this waiver application.
